Faberry week: #2
The front door creaked open and Rachel quietly walked into the apartment. She shrugged off her coat and scarf then placed her keys in the bowl by the family picture. Smiling slightly at the picture, a full smile grew on her face when she heard giggles coming from the living room. With a smile on her face, she ventured further into the apartment. She stopped and leaned against the doorway.
Stuffed animals and toy soldiers were strewn all over the living room and an empty pizza box and cups of juice laid abandoned on the coffee table. Rachel bit her lip to stifle a laugh when she saw Quinn and a three year old, blonde boy come running around the couch. Quinn was on all fours and roaring, while the boy giggled and tried to get away. “You can not hide from the Lion Quinn, Lucas,” Quinn said between roars.
Rachel caught Lucas climbing up on the couch and jumping onto Quinn’s back. “Yeah, but I gots you anyways,” he smiled as he tightened his grip on her neck. Looking up, he smiled. “Mommy!” Jumping off Quinn, he ran over to Rachel and jumped into her arms.
“Hey baby. Did you have a good day with Momma today?” She asked as she kissed his cheek.
Quinn managed to get up and walk over to the pair while she was talking. Quinn kissed Rachel softly and riffled his soft, blonde hair. His green eyes shown brightly and with a toothy smile he nodded. “We saw Aunt Brittany, Aunt San and Emily, and went to the store, and had pizza and played soldiers and jungle.”
“Is that right? Well bud, its bath time now. But I’ll tell you what, since it’s almost Christmas, we’ll have some hot chocolate then go to bed after your bath. Deal?”
Lucas nodded then jumped down, grabbed their hands and dragged them to the bathroom. Quinn and Rachel smiled. After his bath, Quinn and Rachel changed into their sleepwear, Lucas helped Rachel make the hot chocolate and Quinn was busy building the fire and cleaning up the living room.
It wasn’t long before Quinn had her arm around Rachel, with Lucas settled between them and barely visible from beneath the blanket across their laps. Empty mugs sat on the coffee table and soon Lucas was fast asleep between his moms. Rachel turned to Quinn and smiled. “I love you so much,” she murmured through sleepy eyes.
Quinn kissed her forehead and rubbed her nose against her hair. “I love you too.”
“I love both of you, now shush.” Lucas whispered as he nuzzled deeper into Quinn’s side.
Quinn was about to get up and take him to his room until she noticed that Rachel was now fast asleep as well. Sighing, Quinn closed her eyes and held them close. Perfect, she thought before she too drifted off to sleep.
